Nate Mocco’s Recovery!

Hey there, my name is Paisley Hollis. Nate Mocco and I have been dating for 5 years. Recently Nate has been having a hard time medically. At the beginning of October he was having a hard time walking so we went into the ER. Where we discovered he had blood clots in his lungs and legs. Also a chest X-ray showed a spot on his left lung and the doctors were concerned it could be cancerous. They started him on elliquis for the blood clots and we set up a PET scan to get on top of it. The PET scan showed that Nate has stage 4 lung cancer. Which led the doctors to think the cancer is cause of the blood clots. We starting seeing oncology and got his first chemo treatment on the calendar but before she could have it he formed a blood clot in the brain and sufferers from a stroke. His is now in the Neuro ICU at Vanderbilt hospital. It’s been 10 days since his stroke and his drs feel comfortable starting him back on blood thinners since his brain looks stable with no bleeding. From the hospital Nate will have to go to rehab for 2-4 weeks before he can even begin his cancer treatments. His body has to get stronger to be able to take the chemo without it doing more hard to him. He has a very long road ahead of him but I have all the faith in the world that he can do!! I appreciate everyone reaching out and praying for us, it means a lot. A lot of people have asked what they can do to help and we’ve decided the best thing would be to donate to this go fund me or directly to his venmo. We aren’t sure how long he’ll be out of work and money is the last thing I want him even worrying about.
