Nate Lewis Cancer Fight

Donation protected

Although this is extremely difficult to write, we figured as a family this would be the best way to share the most heartbreaking and devastating news. My brother Nate was found to have a large malignant tumor, which he underwent an operation the week of thanksgiving to remove. Since then, his cancer has been microscopically found within his lymph nodes.

As a family, this has been truly the worst time in our lives. My parents and myself are exceptionally devastated and feel like we are at a loss. Nate is BEYOND strong, he’s endured so much in his 33 years of life. We truly feel like we are living in a nightmare. This is deeply personal and private, we ask that at this time all respect our privacy. Nate DOES NOT KNOW what is happening. The “big C” has not been mentioned and we are asking that all respect this at this time. Nate will be going through chemotherapy, because after meeting with oncologists, we have found that this is our best treatment and plan moving forward. We are confident in our treatment team and being surrounded by the best doctors and nurses will bring us the most success at beating this. Many people have reached out and asked us how they can help or best support us. We ask for prayers and peace at this time. We also know for sure that we can navigate this with our friends and family’s support. As always, we are grateful that this is not worse. The prognosis is promising. Our faith is strong and we are confident that Nate will get through this.

We ask that NO phone calls or texts be made to my parents at this time. This is private, heartbreaking, and the mental health of my parents is beyond paramount to me. If you need to reach out please use myself (Kara) as the spokesperson, no visitors or phone calls will be accepted at the hospital. THANK YOU all for your support and profound love for Nate. May we all get through this together. And I know Nate knows his sister and his parents love him with our whole hearts and to the moon & back. We are sad, we have cried, we have asked “why”. It’s not a “merry Christmas”. We know this is the merriest time of year for most, please know that is not our case. Do not have sympathy for us, please pray for us instead. Although my heart is broken in ways I’m not sure will ever repair, I know my brother needs me so much and will be 100000000000% supportive in any way he needs.

Nathans father Stephen and myself (Kara) will be donating 100% of funds to missed work by Stephen, who is the sole provider for Nathan as well as my mother Christine who is the stay at home caretaker for Nate. All donations will be used for any unpaid medical bills, food, and anything else that Nate will need at this time: we thank you for your donations for missed work and for anything you can donate we are extremely grateful. Thank you and god bless
