To all family, friends, colleagues, loved ones, and donors,
My name is Amanda Nygard and I am writing on behalf of Nate Denys who is my loving partner, a brother to Matthew Denys and Andrew Denys, brother in law to Devon Denys and a son to Maria Denys and Ernest Denys.
It breaks my heart to say that Nate was in a tragic accident last Thursday night June 16, 2022, around 9:00 pm. Nate and I were outside our apartment for a quick test ride on his new electric skateboard. In what seemed to happen in the blink of an eye, he appeared to be thrown to the ground, hitting his head on the asphalt from the electric skateboard. Paramedics arrived and Nate was rushed to Stanford Hospital where he underwent brain surgery to stop the bleeding in his head. Since then, Nate is now being taken care of in the ICU where he receives 24/7 medical care from various specialists as he fights to get better.
This page is set up for donations to help with the medical bills, surgeries, rehabilitation centers and long-term expenses that have come our way.
We will also post updates regarding Nate’s progress on this page so the Denys family and I can focus our attention and love on Nate.
Nate is a full-hearted, spontaneous, outgoing, and caring individual who takes every opportunity to the fullest. He always seizes the moment to be with his friends and family, hiking, kayaking, camping, traveling, random adventures, and so much more. Just within the past year, he landed his dream job as an additive manufacturer creating the most amazing pieces. He never stops talking about it and even has multiple 3D printers at home to create pieces in his free time. About two months ago, Nate and I adopted another conure (bird) as a companion for Apple who we’ve had for years. Her name is Papaya but Nate always calls her his “mini dragon”. Nate has always put others before him and now we need to put him first.
At this time, we are unsure what the future holds, but we appreciate everyone who is sending their love to him.
