Nate and Laura’s Baby Journey

For most, bringing a baby into this world is something that happens when you want it to, and for others like Laura and Nate, it requires medical assistance. After five rounds of intrauterine insemination (IUI), and many other natural interventions, their only hope of conceiving a child is to try in vitro fertilization (IVF). This process requires Laura to take multiple drugs, have her eggs retrieved from her body and then fertilized with Nate’s sperm. Once the embryos are formed, they are tested to make sure they are viable and the best of them will be transferred into Laura’s uterus.

Unfortunately, the medical insurance they have does not cover IVF. Laura and Nate have already paid thousands of dollars in prior interventions and one round of IVF will cost them 25-30k. An unaffordable amount for most.
