Hello friends and family, we are so excited to let everyone know that, through their hard work, perseverance and dedication Natalie and Nicholas have made it to the 2015 USATF National Junior Olympics. We are so proud of our athletes for their accomplishments this year for not only making it to the JOs, but for keeping up with their grades at school as well.
This has been a very big year for Natalie, graduating from Hughes middle school and starting LB Poly High School in the fall, playing highly competitive club soccer and running track for both school and outside track team. This requires a lot of discipline due to the extensive training for both of her passions (track/soccer), but what makes it even more difficult is maintaining 3.96 GPA!
Nick will also be starting a new school in the fall as he starts at Newcomb Academy as a 6th grader. Not only was Nick running track all season long, he was playing futsal, which is another form of soccer but played indoors in a more fast pace setting. Keeping his grades up was another discipline that he had to maintain in order to participate in any sport.
Both will be leaving for Jacksonville, Florida on July 26th to compete in the 400m, 800m, 4x100m, 4x400m, and 4x800m relays respectively.
Nick and Nat have done their part in qualifying for the JOs and now with your help we can get these kids there. The cost of competing in the Junior Olympic Games, including air fare, meals, transportaton and lodging can get very expensive. Every little bit helps, so please help Nick and Nat represent SoCal at the 2015 USATF Junior Olympics.
We very much appreciate all of your continuous support and love for our kids, thanks and God bless.
The Mejia family
