My mom got diagnosed with stage 4 colon and liver cancer two years ago in August 2015, this was a surprise to my family because she had eaten healthy and been healthy her whole life. My mom had always stressed healthy eating and we had nothing but organics in the house, we never had junk food and always ate vegetables so you can see it was not expected at all. My family is my parents, my little sister, my older sister, and I. We are a very close and loving family and try to spread our happiness into the world. My dad is a firefighter and my mom translated medical transcripts before she got diagnosed, ever since then she has been devoted to healing.
Recently she decided to stop chemo and take her chances with natural foods and medicines. Our family has been working overtime, every single one of us, to support her through this journey. My mom is the strongest and bravest person I know and I have always known her to be able to do anything but now she has to focus majorly on getting healthier, not only for us but especially for our younger sister, she is only 11 and still has a lot of growing up and maturing that she needs a mother for.
Recently my nana got leukamia, my nana has also had skin cancer for a long time and now it has gotten a lot worse and we have been struggling with funds a lot. Together with my older sister living on her own, me going to college, and my little sister just starting middle school it has been hard to keep afloat. Although recently there has been even more of a struggle than normal. This stresses my mom and my family out everyday which in turn makes my mom sicker, because stress is a big factor in cancer. I have turned to help from friends, family, and the public because my family is the biggest supporter and inspiration I have and I want to help them in anyway I can.
