Natalie’s Breast Cancer Journey

My name is Nia and my mom was diagnosed with Stage 3 Breast cancer in November 2021. This came as a horrible blow to our family. My mom is a nurse and has cared for patients and now the roles are reversed. Upon diagnosis she vowed  to continue working , however due to the aggressive treatment and side effects of chemo  she has been unable to . She has 2 daughters Kayla & Nia all grown up & a teenage son Nicolas. Three grandsons Kayden, Ryan & Aayden. My mom is the most caring, giving person you could meet . She loves her family, friends the beach and most of all loves life. She would give you the shirt off her back. At the time of her diagnosis my mom was working per diem therefore does not qualify for disability or benefits from her job.

She has health insurance deductibles, coinsurance & copays every time she goes to the doctor or has chemotherapy or a test done . She has a long road ahead of her including chemo, surgery and radiation.  Along with household expenses.
