Egg-cellent Investment: Natalie's Uterine Cancer $
Donation protected
Our sister, Natalie Faulkner, was diagnosed with uterine cancer in June 2020. It’s been a tough year for Natalie. After working the winter in Asia she had to scramble to get home safely at the end of March. Shortly after returning she lost her annual income due to COVID-19 including all events and festivals for her business, Sabai Sabai. While she has obtained a loan that can only be used for her business, there have been no grants or forgivable loan options available. In addition, she is now battling cancer that will require additional medical expenses and a hysterectomy, all while living alone through a global pandemic!
After learning the devastating news that a full hysterectomy (at 38 years old) is the best option at curing her cancer, Natalie realized her life-long dream of having her own children and family had been derailed. Natalie has often talked of her big plans and dreams of having her own family one day. Those who know her, know she is a nurturing soul and carries a deep love for children. She was a child therapist for 10 years and was planning to return to the career once her business was more established.
As a fiercely independent soul, asking for help isn’t always easy. And so, we have created this fundraiser to give Natalie a chance for a child – her own biological child. She has the opportunity to remove and store her eggs before the hysterectomy, a procedure known as “egg harvesting”. Her bloodwork and fertility labwork all came back with excellent numbers, so Natalie’s doctors have told her that she is a GREAT candidate for this procedure! This gives her hope that when she is ready for a child, her eggs will have a great chance at a positive fertilization and implantation into a surrogate.
LiveStrong, a company that financially supports medical procedures for cancer patients, will cover a portion of the procedure. After their assistance, Natalie’s out-of-pocket costs will be $6,000. With your help, we would like to raise the money to cover this cost. We know Natalie has a wonderful community of family and friends who love her, her spirit, and her innate quest to help others. Help us give Natalie hope during the darkest hours of her life journey. Any donation amount is greatly appreciated - $5, $50, $100, $1000. Help lift her up and give her an egg-cellent investment!
