Natalie Maciel Sanchez (Wallflower)

Natalie Maciel was a wonderful young 21 year old filled with love. Every individual that has ever met her knows what a humble and caring person she was. Natalie liked to refer to herself as a wallflower; a shy individual, although she was not as shy as she believed. She was a loveable and accepting soul. Natalie was unfortunately born with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA), which is a genetic disease affecting the part of the nervous system that controls voluntary muscle movement. This disease made her physically weak. Yet, she did not show this weakness in her demeanor. SMA made it difficult for Natalie to walk up and down stairs, get up from a chair, and mostly anything involving lifting. Natalie was very family  and friend oriented and has siblings that supported her in ways such as walking her to class and helping her with her school books which was a struggle for her to do alone. Yet, she never once complained or allowed it to bring her spirits down. Natalie was finishing up her last units/courses and was preparing to start the transfering process to a university. She was very passionate about children and was persuing a degree in child development. She was awarded into the honors program and was very humble about her accomplishments. She was a selfless individual who accepted people for who they were and never looked down on anyone. Unfortunately Natalie passed away on the morning of May 6th. The cause of her death is still unknown and won't be release until another 3 months. Doctors speculate that she passed away due to blood filling her lungs. No one ever expects to bury their child and this has made it financially difficult for the Maciel parents to cope with. The goal is to raise $17,000 which will cover most of the expenses for Natalies funeral services. Anything and everything helps and is appreciated. God Bless.
