Natalie admitted to Legacy Salmon Creek June 25th. She was having ongoing intestinal issues. Ct Scans showed intestinal swelling. Day one, she tested positive for covid, at which time I was told to leave.
After waiting and watching in the hospital for 10 days, her bowel perforated. She had emergency surgery July 5th at which time the majority of her colon was removed, pending test results, ulcerative colitis was the diagnosis.
Early this morning she began vomiting, unable to breathe, she consented to being placed in a coma and on a vent.
Our hearts are torn in two. We trust God has her but this is the hardest thing, to be away from her for these last days and knowing that she made this most difficult choice, alone.
Natalie continues to fight hard to recover in ICU. When Natalie comes home from the hospital, it will be a long, hard recovery. It will be a long time before she is able to return to work. As her mom, I KNOW she will worry about not earning money. She's has health insurance but I would love to set her up with enough money to cover things that are not covered by insurance, or items she will need to make her transition living with an ostomy bag easier. This is a great way to help her rest easy.
