Natalia Ann, Sweet Child of Mine

Hello, my name is Felicia. I am the proud mama of 19 year old, Natalia, who is currently enrolled and attending classes at BSU pursuing a degree in criminal justice.

It all started as a lump on her neck in Nov. 2023. The doctor says she has a swollen lymphnod. We followed the doctors orders time and time again. "She's had a cold for weeks. Get rest and return if the swelling doesn't subside, come back in." The lump didn't subside. We see a specialist in Jan. 2024, this is when things start to pick up the pace very quickly. Blood work, scans, more appointments. Before she knew it, she was scheduled for a biopsy for the lumps on her neck.

Results are in... Hodgkins Lymphoma.

The tests and surgeries didn't stop there. How do we treat? What are the side effects?

Infertility, among a dozen other side effects. Oncologist schedules a PET scan, next was bone marrow biopsy, after that MRI on liver, all within 7 days. Then the Port placement the following week. ABVD Chemotherapy treatments will be starting March 1st.

Now forefront in her mind... Will I survive? The doctor says, "It's a very curable cancer and her favorite to treat, but right now, we need to preserve your fertility, if that's what you would like to do. Someone your age shouldn't have to think about your future child, but here you are."

This is what we are asking your help for. In total, it's about $6000. For the fertility treatments and egg preservation procedure that our insurance doesnt cover. We are humbly asking our friends, family, community, and anyone else who is willing to help make a difference in Natalia's life with this fight against cancer and her pursuit of egg preservation. Chemotherapy start date is March 1st 2024.

Our hearts feel completely shattered by this. Anyone who knows Natalia knows what a sweet, tender soul she has. She has blessed everybody in her life with nothing but love and kindness. We know that Natalia is so strong and will continue to fight her fight against this cancer. While her future is unknown, the financial burden that medical treatments bring can become incredibly stressful, and we are hoping to alleviate some of that for her and her family. All donations will go towards Natalia's medical bills, fertility treatments, egg preservation and costs associated with her care as she embarks in this chapter of her life.
