My name is Nassir Durham. I am a first-generation African American college student, and pursuing higher education has always been my dream. For me, going to college isn’t just about earning a degree. It’s about breaking generational barriers, honoring my family’s sacrifices, and creating opportunities for those who come after me.
Growing up, I watched my family work hard to provide what they could. There were many times when finances were tight, but I held onto the belief that education could change my life. I’ve always been determined to rise above my circumstances and create something bigger for myself and my community.
Now that I’m in college, I’m working hard to stay there. Without a financial safety net, every semester is a challenge. Tuition, textbooks, housing, and basic living expenses add up quickly. I’ve applied for scholarships, taken on jobs, and done everything I can to lighten the load, but I still need help to continue my education.
I’m asking for support to help me stay in school and reach my goals. By supporting me, you’re not just funding my education. You’re helping me change the course of my life. You’re showing me that I’m not alone in this journey, and that there are people who believe in what I’m working toward.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for supporting my future.
Sincerely,
Nassir Durham
