Nine years ago, we opened our school in a 4-room, red brick schoolhouse with 89 Kindergarteners. This year, built on a foundation of promises and dreams, Nashville Classical reached full, K-8 enrollment and opened our doors to 542 scholars.
Along the way, we have accomplished a lot. Recently, we were named the Number 1 Charter Elementary School in Tennessee , profiled by some of the country's leading experts on curriculum and teaching -- 4QM and Teach Like A Champion -- and supported by the Nashville Predators Foundation and Kaboom to build a brand new playground . Even better, we are continuing to grow and serve more families. On November 9th, we were approved by the MNPS Board of Education to open a second campus in a new community.
How You Can Help
In order to offer our 6th - 8th graders the best educational experience possible, we have launched two new programs: NCCS Athletics and HS Placement.
Without any cost to families, we are offering scholars tours of local high schools, a customized and comprehensive guide to all of the city's private, district, and charter schools, as well as test prep and fee waivers for the ISEE exam. Meanwhile, this winter, our school’s brand new basketball team took the court in new NCCS Basketball jerseys, supported by our mascot, cheerleading squad, and a dedicated team of teachers and coaches.
Every single new program to support our scholars costs money. Gifts of any amount count, but suggested giving levels include
$100: Sponsor a basketball player or cheerleader’s uniform and supplies
$250: Sponsor travel to away games
$500: Sponsor HS tours, applications, entrance exams, and admissions support
Any additional money raised will be used for our scholar support fund, which is used to provide uniform scholarships, subsidized before/after care, and family support grants.
