Nash's Hero's - Cerebral Palsy Motorbike Ride
Donation protected
This is Nash, my Grandson at the Challenge Games. Nash has mild Cerebral Palsy (CP) that was identified when he was approximately 2 years old. Nash has a large scar inside his brain likely caused by a stroke when he was in the late stages of pregnancy or within the first year of his life. Something his parents will never know!
Because CP is close to me, I decided to organise a motorbike ride with me and some mates from Townsville. We would like to raise money for the "Queensland Cerebral Palsy and Rehabilitation Research Centre". Their mission is to lead research, innovation and education to advance the health of children with cerebral palsy, acquired brain injury and related disabilities, supporting them and their families across their lifespan.
Nash is an extremely determined and active young man, but not without the dedication of his parents, doctors and the regular therapies he receives. While this fundraising does not go to Nash, it goes to the research centre because we do not know enough about brain injuries and in particular Cerebral Palsy of our young children.
I recently had my own brain injury when I fell from a truck. Thanks to the quick thinking of my son-in-law, paramedics and rescue helicopter I was able to recover fairly unscathed. Unfortunately, this has put a bump in the road for my fundraiser but please rest assured that it is going ahead and funds will be distributed to the cause within due course. Fundraising is still in full swing.
Your donation to the bike ride can go directly to the charity or alternatively if you are a business your donation can go towards sponsorship of the ride expenses. There are many ways to become involved. Please contact me for more details.
Your support is greatly appreciated.
