July 2019 my childhood friend/brother and I opened up a business, Buss Down Smoke Shop, together with the intentions of establishing long-term growth and success for our Long Beach Community. We invested in a place for the people, by the people to interact with us and catch a vibe. When anyone would leave Buss Down Smokes, they would leave feeling uplifted.  Buss Down Smokes was destined for continued success and growth, however it was put on pause due to COVID-19. Just as we were gearing up to welcome the Long Beach Community with the updated guidelines from the Governor, the tragic Murder of George Floyd happened due to police brutality and in a blink of an eye everything changed. Buss Down Smokes was LOOTED and DESTROYED following the Protest for George Floyd. Sunday 5/31/2020 approx. 8:30 PM looters vandalized and stole all of our merchandise. Our black-owned business is left trying to pick up the pieces without having invested in business insurance amid the mourning George Floyd.
