NASCAR Virtual Field Trip

Distance Learning is hard - it is hard on teachers and it is hard on students. My first graders are 5, 6, and 7 years old and they are learning how to navigate Zoom calls and sharing their work online. They do incredible things every day, and still... nothing compares to the JOY of the classroom.

Field trips are a luxury we may not have for a while: renting a bus, all going in 1 car, being around strangers, sharing materials... 

AND, the NASCAR hall of fame has figured out a way to help with this. The NASCAR hall of fame is offering field trips for $100. 


100$ gets students this experience:

Specialized supplies shipped to a single location, including an individual kit of materials for each student

Additional materials like a lesson plan, teacher resource kit, access to online resources and supplementary activities, instructions for conducting/facilitating the workshop and technical support (Hall is not responsible for individual connectivity)

For the live stream option, a NASCAR Hall of Fame Education staff member to fully facilitate workshop with teacher support

For the pre-recorded option, a prepared presentation by a Hall Education staff member

However, teachers are asked to provide these materials:

Supplemental materials as needed, such as tape, scissors, markers, etc.

Room set and internet connection to access live stream or pre-recorded workshops

Classroom management of students for live-streaming sessions

Active facilitation and supported instructions for pre-recorded workshops

Any materials that students need, are things that I need to buy and ship to them, or deliver directly to their homes. Mr. Terlop helps me by driving the get away car! 

I would like to give my students the whole NASCAR Hall of Fame experience as a treat for working SO HARD during distance learning!

The price of this fundraiser will cover the $100 fee, mailing boxes, shipping, and cost of materials for the students.
