We are James and Joy, Vegan Couple UK, on Instagram. We organise National Animal Rights Day in Birmingham. Nard is a celebration of the animal rights movement. Its takes place on the first Sunday of June each year, in over 160 cities around the world. This year it will be on June 1st. Every event is a silent march to remember, all the animals that have died or suffered, at the hands of humans. After the march we will have speakers and performers, from the vegan animal rights movement. In 2025 we held our very First Nard Birmingham. It was a fantastic event. We want 2026, to be bigger and even better. We hope to have a festival vibe, that we will call, the festival of hope. With even more speakers, singers, vegan food trucks and vendors. For this to happen, we will need to raise money, to allow the festival to become a reality. Last year we were given a budget by Nard HQ. Unfortunately this year head office aren't able to fund individual events. We really need to raise money to purchase things like tshirts, posters, to pay speakers and to ultimately hold our festival. To have a festival we need to pay Birmingham City Council to provide access to their electricity. Plus purchase multiple licenses, for trading and event insurance.
