Naomi Li and the NY Times Summer Academy!

Over the past two years Naomi has served as a member of the of the CCHS Odyssey Media Group. She has fallen in love with knowing the world around her, both the good bits and the bad, and has worked very hard to build the skills she believes will help her live her life in a meaningful and fulfilling way. Last January she applied to the NY Times Summer Academy. This is a two week, intensive learning environment where she will be taught by professional journalists. She also applied for and received $1500 of financial aid from the NY Times. We are raising the remainder of the tuition, room and board expenses.

Opportunity and experience shape our potential to live meaningful,  fulfilling lives and hard work and resources are catalysts for creating both of these things. Naomi had to submit a resume during the application process and under the objective section she wrote, "To obtain the experience needed to become an individual who can positively impact the world around me." We know we are her parents but we firmly believe she is already one of those people that positively impacts the world around them. She is one of the most intuitive, driven, and empathetic individuals we know and she will be deeply grateful for any help she receives as she strives to take advantage of this opportunity and the experience it will bring with it.
