Hello everybody my name is Ellie and I am raising money for my Nan after her having to have her leg amputated after 16 years of pain after having guillian barre syndrome

My Nans story ..

In October 2009 my Nan was working in the hospital and was a cardigrapher when she had the H1N1 vaccination, after the vaccine 4 days later my Nan couldn’t walk and went to the doctors about this and was immediately rushed to the hospital, when she was at the hospital she was extremely ill which was life threatening and my Nan managed to fight through it. My Nan ended up with GBS and her nerves stopped working and had to try to learn to walk again

When the nerves grew back it left my Nan in constant pain every day and had various treatments and in the end after 16 years she had her leg amputated on June 2025 as there was no options left.

My Nan had to have this vaccination as she was a front line member of NHS staff so had no choice and then ended up with 16 years of struggle due to her disability.

Id like to raise money so she can enjoy a nice holiday with my Grandad after a very long time of being a warrior. I can’t think of anyone else who deserves this more than her

Even when my Nan has been in pain every day she never fails to help anyone with anything. My family always come to my Nan when we have a problem and she always comes up with a way to resolve it and we would love to give back. During my Nans hard times she still volunteered at North Devon Homes for 14 years untill she physically couldn’t anymore.

My Nan would never ask for any help but I am doing this for her and any donations would be appreciated thank you.
