Nani’s Transition and Stable housing

Hello All,
my name is Nani Borges and I am a working class Transgirl from Chicago. I am an actress as well as a visual artist. At the start of the pandemic I had stable employment and have since had to quit due to my asthma and other pre-existing conditions that put me in the high risks category for COVID-19. I have applied to unemployment three times and have been denied each time. This fund is to help with necessities for my transition into the person that I truly am such as monthly prescriptions, co-pays for specialists related to my transition and nephrologist appointments, gender affirming surgeries, and transportation to appointments. My insurance currently does not cover any related cost to my gender affirming surgery and only pays 80% of my medical costs as it relates to my primary care, Transition, and Nephrologist appointments.

This along with transphobia and racism I have faced in applying to numerous jobs has left no other option but to ask for help as we move forward into 2020 and beyond.
 This campaign will allow me to finance my medical transition, pay bills, buy groceries, and begin to start the process of planning my surgeries over the next two years. I understand we are all going through a rough time and coping with so much, but any donation or even a share ishelpful and very much so appreciated.

I am only asking for a portion of the total because I am seeking employment consistently and continuously as I continue my transition and provide for my family at this time.
