Nancy Escobar-Cobbs, 38 year-old mother and stay at home mother of three - daughter (18) and two sons (10 and 4) - and wife to George Cobbs was taken to the hospital last week after a multiple weeks of being ill with a cough and bronchitis.
NO ONE was prepared or expected her to be diagnosed with stage four cancer.
The type is called "cup" Carcinoma of unknown primary (CUP) is a rare disease in which malignant (cancer) cells are found in the body but the place the cancer began is not known. Cancer can form in any tissue of the body. The primary cancer (the cancer that first formed) has spread rapidly to other parts of Nancy's body.
Nancy is currently being treated at Memorial Hospital's Cancer Treatment Center in Chattanooga, Tennesse. She is being a trooper and a fighter despite currently being on breathing assistance. Her body is struggling to keep up with the medication, radiation and chemotherapy treatments she is undergoing. The hope is that her liver will increase it's platelet count so that it can begin to fight the cancer as well.
George and Nancy's family have rallied round from all across the country and from as far away as Germany to be with Nancy and support George and the children. Nancy is a strong willed woman who is fighting to conquer this disease and live life to the fullest with her family.
For those of you that have the privilege of knowing the Cobbs family, you can testify to the loving, outgoing, compassionate and beautiful personalities of this family. They always have the most uplifting and positive attitudes despite what the world throws at them. They are a true joy and even in despite of Nancy's condition they remain positive even though they are living a true day to day battle between life and death.
Please help us in supporting Nancy's Cancer Battle in getting her effectively treated and able to come home to her loving family.
