Nancy's fight with Endometrial Cancer

Hi, my name is Stephanie Spangler. I am fundraising for my Mother-in-law, Nancy Spangler who was diagnosed with endometrial adenocarcinoma with metastases to the brain in late January 2023. On February 3, 2023, Nancy had an MRI-guided laser interstitial thermal therapy (LITT) surgery that removed a large portion of the tumor in her brain. Nancy was admitted to UCSD hospital on January 29th-February 23rd. During her stay, she went through a number of tests and imagining along with many therapies and radiation. Nancy was then admitted to an acute rehab facility where she continued her rehab to be able to re-learn how to speak, walk, and gain function back to her right side. Her stay at this facility was from February 23rd to March 16th. Nancy continues to receive physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech services at her home in Oceanside along with multiple visits to and from UCSD for continued treatment and care.

As you can see, she has already had an immense amount of treatment and services that fortunately are largely covered by insurance, but still require an extensive amount of out-of-pocket expenses. The bills are starting to come in so we want to help Nancy and her husband as they are both retired and on a fixed income. If you are able, and feel inclined to help support Nancy, it is so greatly appreciated! Nancy still has a long road ahead of her, but if you know Nancy, she is a fighter and will continue to kick cancer's butt! Nancy is one of the most fun-loving, full-of-life people that you will ever meet, and treats everyone with so much kindness and love. Everyone that gets to work with her always comments " I love working with her!" or " She is my favorite patient!". Nancy is also one of our favorite people! We would love it if she was able to focus solely on getting better and not having to stress about the financial burdens of this battle.
