Nancy's Brain Surgery Recovery Fund!
Donation protected
Hi everyone! I am writing to you today, not because I want to, but because I feel I need to for a very important person in my life. About a month ago, my sister Nancy was given a devastating diagnosis from her doctor. He told her that the reasons for her headaches, dizziness, hearing loss, and numbness in her face etc. were from a tumor pressing on her brain that needs to be removed right away. Surgery has been scheduled for May 7th! She came to me for help, not in handling the idea of going through an 8–12-hour surgery on her brain, but to help her figure out how she was going to provide for her family, pay her rent, food, car payments and the rest of the bills without being able to work.
Nancy is a single mother of two and not in a place financially to weather the storm. She works as a child and adolescent therapist in private practice. Her work has been needed during this difficult year that has affected so many of our young teens and college aged kids. It will be hard for her to not be there during her 3 to 4 month recovery. Her work is her joy and life purpose. Being self employed is not without a down side. Medical coverage is minimal and there isn’t sick or paid family leave.
Nancy will not be able to work while struggling with this challenge. She is still trying to recover financially from her bout with breast cancer over 10 years ago.
This is the reason why I am reaching out to you, my family and friends. My sister is a very private person and would never usually allow me to request help. But I know the financial stress will weigh on her recovery.
The amount I have configured is to help replace the lost income and additional costs associated with her recovery. Please know that your prayers are just as, or even more important, than any monetary donation you can make.
I want to thank everyone for assisting in any way you possibly can to help relieve my sister’s financial stress. She is a breast cancer survivor as I mentioned, so we know she definitely has the fight in her!
Thank you all.
