I am a lone parent of four children aged between 13 and 18. I was diagnosed with a rare kind of cancer, called Thymoma, in October 2012.
The doctors gave me 6 months to live...
Three courses of chemo and steroids and a major operation later, I am still here more then 4 years later!
However the battle is not over, I was told at the end last of year there is nothing more medically that could be done, no more chemo and no more surgery . It felt like someone had put a full stop on my life without my consent!
Everyday I desperately fight to stay alive, there is nobody to care for my children and everday I spend with them I am beyond grateful.
Although I am considered a stage 4 terminally ill patient, I am determined to prove them wrong and go on fighting.
I am living a strict, organic, very healthy diet with alternative medication, which, I am convinced, has made me survive longer then anybody ever imagined.
But as a result huge bills are piling up on my desk: the last one for £ 2.500 + is waiting to be paid...
Every medicine, substitute, vitamin, and also any regualr tests such as blood tests, I have to pay for, since as termanilly ill patient these are no longer covered by the NHS.
Also as a result of my illness I rely heavily on my home being constantly heated and all these medical and living expenses exceeds my household income.
I am unable to cover the costs of my current alternative medication and diet.
As a result I need to desperately ask for financial support to continue my day to day-living in my circumstances.
