Nancy Evelyn Gold was born in 1964 and was the Executive Producer of The Gender Dances Project and the Producer and Lead Commentator of ‘This Week in Gender (TWiG)’ a weekly news program, both of which aimed to increase trans* visibility.
Nancy has worked on LGBT issues from the late 80’s and continued to do so until her death as not only producer and commentator, but also as a board member of the GLCC, Committee Member for Transpride Pittsburgh, Volunteer, Filmmaker, Journalist and Advocate.
In short, she has spent more than the last 30 years of her life giving of herself to better all of our lives; and its now time to give back to her.
Nancy did not want us to be sad. She wanted a simple celebration of her life and her lives work as her final send off. Although we know what her last wishes are, we, her chosen family will be taking on the cost of these final wishes ourselves, and with your help.
Please donate what you can spare, if even just a dollar to help us prepare a proper memorial for this much loved pillar of our community. Every bit helps!
The minimum we need for a modest celebration, cremation costs, obituary and other final expenses is $2500. Anything raised above and beyond those needs will be donated back to an LGBTQIA non-profit in Nancy's name which will be determined at a later date if such a need arises.
