Nancy & the Nanobugs
Donation protected
My name is Nancy Haberstich. I am the founder of Nanobugs, inc. (established in 2006). I am a nurse on a mission to prevent infections and teach practical microbiology to anyone who will listen. I created 64 cartoon microbes called Nanobugs, to engage and educate people of all ages. In 2020, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. Chemotherapy, multiple surgeries and the COVID pandemic took a toll on the momentum I had built with the business. But my mission is not finished, and I can't bear to let my brainchild die on the vine in tough economic times CAUSED by a pandemic!
Now that my health has returned, I am ready, willing, and able to revive my business and share my novel STEM-worthy approach to teaching infection prevention. Funds are needed to reprint Nanobugs books, cards, coloring books, tattoos, and other "STEAM resources for curious Homo sapiens." We have created an animation for the three pandemic coronaviruses, but I need money to pay the animator to finish it. (You will love this one, I promise.) Our website, www.nanobugs.com, needs to be updated. So, that is how I will spend donated dollars. I am frugal and promise to use funds wisely. We contract with other small businesses in our community whenever possible. Our printer, animator and IT guy are local.
I am now focused on writing books and materials that continue my health promotion and infection prevention legacy. I want to engage readers (especially grandmothers) to learn more about STEAM through fiction, non-fiction, and memoir. This endeavor requires funds to cover editing and publishing expenses to publish my books.
Word-of-mouth is a powerful influence, so please tell your friends and family about the Nanobugs - send them to www.nanobugs.com. Educators can find our STEM-worthy products on www.TeacherPayTeachers and www.NebraskaScientific.com.
