Nancy Smith needs her hip replaced
Donation protected
My name is Jaclyn Moorhouse, and I am the only daughter of Nancy Smith.
Anyone who knows my mom and myself know that we are thick as thieves. There isn’t anything we wouldn’t do for each other, and there isn’t much we wouldn’t do for others either.
My mom contracted Covid 19 in 2021 after a colleague came to work knowing they were sick. It kicked her ass then, and is still continuing to do so after more than 2 years.
WCB has been minimally helpful since it was a workplace incident causing her fatigue and pain. She has been unable to retain gainful employment through tireless efforts since this happened.
My stepdad contracted Covid from my mom and this affected him just as negatively- including aggravating a heart condition leading to a heart attack - and he has not been able to work since having Covid.
The worst part of this all has been that my mom also needs a hip replacement. She is on the queue and only waiting on one thing - dental work. As she hasn’t found employment to the point of having benefits, she and my stepdad cannot afford for her to get the work she needs. This is their biggest barrier.
I have personally helped as much as I can financially, as have one of my step-siblings, but it’s still not enough.
The sooner my mom can get her teeth done, the sooner she can have her hip replaced, and the sooner she will regain the mobility for a wider range of employment options . Not to mention her quality of life.
My mom never asks for help unless she is completely out of options, so I am stepping in.
My mom has instilled her own work ethic into me, and she wants to work. She wants to be able to get up and go so she can regain her independence.
I know it’s a tough time for many of us.
If you’ve read this far and have even the slightest fond memory of my mom or myself (I am me because of her) please consider even a small donation.
I appreciate any and all anyone can do.
