Nancy (Smith) Kabance would have been 49 years old today, July 9th. Nancy is the first classmate lost from the class of 1987. She had the best sense of humor, loved to experience new things and treasured her family dearly. She had fond and funny memories of her time spent from 3rd grade through senior year at St. Albert Catholic High School. Just last year we were going through the old SA high school yearbooks laughing at all the things that could no longer happen in this day and age.
The Smith family had a long connection with the St. Albert School system and put many of their children through Catholic school by sacrificing, stretching their dollars and just simply making it work. A group of Nancy’s classmates thought it would be appropriate to create a scholarship in her name to be awarded at the high school level. Offering even a small token of relief to a family that could use the scholarship would make her happy.
If funding is successful, we may be able to back scholarships for future years as well. Any donation toward this scholarship in Nancy’s honor is appreciated.
