In October of 2017, Nancy Roche suffered a massive stroke. The stroke left her completely paralyzed on the right side of her body, unable to speak, and unable to swallow. Nancy has been on a feeding tube ever since.
She is currently under 24/7 care at the Carolton Chronic Convalescent Hospital in Fairfield, CT. Medicare only covered Nancy’s first 100 days. Since then all of her care has been out of pocket. In addition to her room and board charge each month at the Carolton there are expenses for her therapy, medications and transporting her to and from doctor’s appointments and hospital visits.
