Hi!
We are the friends and coworkers of Nancy Roberts, who is a high school teacher and the Athletic Director at Dallas School District in Dallas, Pennsylvania. Nancy is in an extremely tough position and she truly needs your help! Earlier this year, Nancy was diagnosed with cancer of the mouth (soft tissue carcinoma ) and is currently undergoing a grueling schedule of chemotherapy. This therapy, which is one FULL week on and two off, will continue until the end of August. After that, Nancy will face surgery and whatever else she needs to survive this invasive disease.
We are launching this campaign because Nancy, who has the heart and soul of an angel, has taken on significant personal responsibilities that she is now struggling to meet. Her household consists of her 3 year old grandson (whose mother lives in another state) and her elderly mother. With each round of treatments, her ability to meet these responsibilities becomes increasingly difficult. For example, after her most recent round of chemotherapy, Nancy wound up in the hospital for a week of transfusions. She is No longer even able to physically lift her grandson, therefore basic daily care is a challenge. The situation appears to be impossible.
The money raised will allow Nancy to hire consistent, high quality child care, and who may also provide assistance to her mother. This will then allow Nancy to go about the business of beating this horrendously painful disease.
