Hello, my name is Marguerite, and I wanted to share a little about my amazing friend Nancy Tuohey. Perhaps you have crossed paths with her yourself, as she has been a long-time resident of Monterey Bay, and most recently working at Loulou’s at the Wharf.

Unfortunately, in the beginning of October of this year, Nancy was diagnosed with Stage IV Inflammatory Breast Cancer, a rare and aggressive form of the disease that accounts for less than five percent of all breast cancers.

Nancy has had one life-altering event after another. In a span of seven months, her friend of fifty years lost her battle to cancer, her mother passed away somewhat suddenly, she broke her arm, her dog died, Loulou’s permanently closed, and she was forced to move away.

Loulou’s was more than just a source of income; it was a place of connection with people. Even through all this, you can still see her beautiful spirit, a sense of fun, happiness, and appreciation for life just by looking at her bright blue eyes and infectious smile.
