Save Nancy's sight #nancyssight

Donation protected
My friend Nancy Carver has
leukemia, acute mds which is myelodysplastic syndrome. She had a stem cell/bone marrow transplant last year. Because her donor was not related she developed gvhd (graph versus host disease)from the transplant. Gvhd damaged both of her eyes with the left eye being damaged the most. She had two operations on her left eye cornea to prevent blindness. These operations did not work. John Hopkins wants her to use two medications to prevent blindness in her eyes but her Atena Medicare has refused to cover these medications. Their reasoning was that the medications aren't necessary even though two doctors at John Hopkins said she will go blind without them. The combined medications are close to $1,000 per month which Nancy does not have. She is over 65 and only receives Social Security. She was laid off from her job one month after finding out she had Leukemia. The medications that were prescribed for her eyes to prevent blindness are: novotears, lifitegrast 5% dpet, loteprednol etabonate 5% Drpg ophthalmic gel., lacricert. Please help my friend Nancy not lose her eye sight because the insurance company deems these medications unnecessary. Every donation is appreciated. God bless you for caring.
