Nancy help is on the way!!

Donazione protetta
In late July of 2017 our Nancy was diagnosed with High Grade Invasive Ductal Carcinoma in the right breast. The tumor was 3.2 CM in size and found one other that was less than 1mm.  Two months later she underwent a double mastectomy on October 6th. Both breasts just to be on the safe side, although no cancer was found in the left breast. They also took out 6 lymph nodes.

The next brutal stage of treatment would begin with Chemo on November 2nd, then another 4 rounds every 3 weeks. Her last Chemo was on Jan 5th of this year! Even with her hair gone she still managed to keep her spirits up and keep fighting the good fight.

Then came the Exchange surgery from expanders to implants on 2/15. You can imagine that wasn’t pleasant either. But she braved through it, anxious to get back to healing and some normalcy.

She has had a lot of emotional support along the way and we are thankful for all the well wishers and cheerleaders. We know more than anything that that has help lift her up in spirit and strength. The day after her mastectomy a large group of sorority sisters, kids and her parents did the Komen 5k in Charlotte in honor of her. She has definitely had her active prayer warriors working hard!

Of course those that know her well are not surprised at what a tough cookie she has been or that the worst part for her (other than the mounting medical bills) was not being able to exercise for 6 weeks after the implants! Always running like a fighter she is.

Her optimism and strength through out the entire process  has been amazing. For those that have grown up with her it’s no surprise that she met cancer head on and is winning. Her outlook is good; however, the medical bills piling up are almost unsurmountable. We all understand with today’s healthcare climate how something like cancer can devastate your financial well being. Specially when all you need to be concerning yourself with is getting back to your healthiest, best self. Instead of concentrating on getting back to 100%, she has been hit by an avalanche that just keeps on coming.  Any amount you can donate will go towards helping Nancy recover from the massive medical bills she is already receiving and with more on the way. A lot of us feel the burden of everyday financial strain, so please, regardless if you can give or not, send Nancy all the love and light that you can to help her get through this stressful time. Even the smallest of donations will go a long way to helping her get back on her feet and thrive. Let Nancy know “We gotcha girl!”

A huge thank you from all her family and friends. We all, as well as Nancy, appreciate each and every one of you! XOXO

PS- Did we mention she found the lump herself?! Heck yeah she did!
