For so many of us, our children's first experience with school was with Christopher Robin & Friends preschool. When you think of Christopher Robin and Friends preschool, you think of Teacher Nancy. She has been part of CRFP for 20+ years. She has nurtured and cared for hundreds of children throughout her amazing career. Personally, my children, who are now middle schoolers, still love and have wonderful memories of Teacher Nancy and CRFP.
Nancy now needs some nurturing and care from us, the grateful recipients of her love and care of our children.
Teacher Nancy has been diagnosed with Pulmonary Fibrosis, a progressive and terminal lung disease. This is a devastating diagnosis at any time, but in the age of Covid-19, this means that she has been layed off due to CRFP's closure and her future remains uncertain.
We have set up this fund to be able to give back to Teacher Nancy, to show her how much we appreciate her inspiring our children's love of learning and to thank her for all she has done for our kiddos.
This fund will be used for the overwhelming medical costs that are coming her way, as well as for general living expenses and whatever costs come up that Nancy and her family designate as necessary due to this unexpected and potentially extended leave of absence. Emily Dethloff, Nancy's daughter will be responsible for withdrawing the funds and then distributing to Nancy her mom. Together with her mom Nancy (Fradkin), decisions will be made and expenses will be prioritized based on Nancy's immediate needs.
If you are moved to donate, thank you. We would also ask that you please leave a note of inspiration or a word letting Teacher Nancy know what she has meant to you and your children.
Lastly, please feel free to pass this along to any CRFP alumni that you know. We are trying to get the word out to as many former families as possible.
