My name is Karl Bajenting and I am Fundraising for my Mother "Nanay" Edith. Me, my 2 other siblings, relatives and parents friends have been supporting my mother for the last 10+ years for her Cancer Treatment. It was a relief when the Cancer was not detected. However last 2018, the Cancer came back and it was in one of Nanay's lung (specifically the left lung). Nanay undergo again surgery (to remove the cancer on the left lung) and a year and a half of target treatment. For a year, the Cancer was not again detected and it was a relief for us until again early 2020 when the Cancer was detected again in Nanay's right lung and spine. Now Nanay needs to go chemo therapy, targeted therapy and bone therapy for I don't know how long.
I am hoping to be able to raise some funds to help cover part of the expense that will incur for her treatments thru your kind heart however small. I really don't know where to get the funds to continue with her treatments as me and my siblings have exhausted all the resources as to where to get the funds.
We love Nanay so much. We know she always put us first (me and my siblings) above her wants and comforts. And she never have complain and never stop putting our needs first than hers. We want this time for Nanay to at least live a comfortable life without worries and she be able to put her needs and wants first.

Below is Nanay's Cancer Journey on her own words.

My Metastatic Breast Cancer Journey

(Targeted therapy and bone therapy for metastatic breast CA at CebuDoc Cancer Center)
Being “visited” by breast cancer for the third time has brought a lot of havoc not only to my health but also to my finances!
I was first diagnosed of Invasive Ductal Carcinoma in December 2008 thru aspiration biopsy and later a tissue biopsy after I underwent a modified radical mastectomy of my right breast. It was at Stage 2A then. For my treatment, I underwent 6 cycles of chemotherapy and 5 years of hormone therapy.
However, in my routine tests/scans sometime in early 2018, it was found out that a nodule was seen in my left lung. I had to undergo a Video Assisted Thoracic Surgery (VATS) where the surgeons cut off my lingula where the nodule was settled, plus they also harvested a couple of neighboring lymph nodes. Upon biopsy, it was found out that the nodules were a metastasis from breast cancer cells of some 10 years ago, thus raising me to Stage4 (metastatic breast cancer) .
After surgery, I had to undergo 18 cycles of targeted therapy since I was found to be ER+, PR+, and HER2+. After a year of targeted therapy (18 cycles done) no more cancer cells were detected by the machine. I continued with my hormone therapy ( as this was for 5 years) . However, after a year of this treatment, nodules were again detected , this time in my right lung, my left lung, and in my spine , based on the results of my PET-CT scan in January 2020.
As of the moment, I am undergoing chemotherapy, targeted therapy, and bone therapy all together for another year which is costing me about Php80,000 a month or roughly US$1,600 monthly.
And just yesterday, the results of my October 2021 scan showed that one node located in my lung is still growing in size and malignant. Thus , in addition to my existing therapies, I have to undergo radiation therapy daily for 1 and 1/2 months to kill that growing node - an additional expense!
These therapies have caused so much drain from my finances as I rely mainly on my and my husband’s meager pension since both of us are already retired from government service. My 3 children contribute some amount every now and then, but they can barely sustain their contributions as they also have their own families to fend for with many bills to pay.
Thus, we are appealing to your kind hearts for some financial assistance you can extend in this my period of dire need. May the Good Lord repay you and shower you with blessings a thousand fold!
In Christ,
Edith
