THE STORY
Nana’s Footsteps is a family drama at an old delusional grandmother’s house. Alison returns to see her grandmother after years of being taken away from her. When she discovers the secret her grandmother has been holding for years; her whole life is turned upside down.
WHY THIS FILM?
I’m an Australian writer with a deep love for family and fantasy. Family is one of the most important things to me, and I cherish all the memories I’ve shared with my grandparents. Though, with this, my family has experienced a lot of loss. I wanted to translate a way to accept this uniquely. The inevitably and harshness of losing a loved one. Family is the foundation of everything.
So what happens when we reconnect with a loved one? Do we let go? How do we let go? How do we move on when there’s no time? Nana’s Footsteps explores these questions through a powerful original story.
WHO I AM
My name is Madison Marneros; I'm a 21-year-old filmmaker and screenwriter. I have made four short films previously and hope for this one to be the best yet. As this production takes place, I'm also studying for a Diploma of Screen and Media.
WHAT WE HAVE MADE BEFORE
The last project we made was Bloodline, it was a huge success and gained a lot of worldwide attraction. It was a story we would love to tell more of in the future. Bloodline has won multiple awards and is highly commended.
