Nana Miss Koori is overjoyed to have been selected as one of the eight fabulous finalists for Miss First Nations 2019! To be held in Melbourne, 8-11 May, as part of the Yirramboi Festival 2019.
Which is only five weeks away! Heeeeeeeelp!
Nana Miss Koori is a Gadigal gal from Sydney and has been performing over the past 20 years where she has travelled the long roads and performed the club circuits in areas such as Lightning Ridge, Walgett, Moree, Gilgandra, Boggabri, Narrabri, Gunnedah, Casino, Bathurst, The Blue Mountains, Nowra, Bomaderry and La Perouse. Nana was a regular performer at Club Redfern, Sydney and still travels the countryside with her fabulous performances at special events and celebrations.
Nana appears regularly at the very iconic Imperial Hotel, Erskineville at Priscilla's Restaurant, Drag and Dine. In February 2019, Nana was honoured to have performed as a featured artist in 'The Drag and Dine Legacy'.
For Mardi Gras 2019, Nana had the pleasure to curate, co-host and perform at 'Black Nulla' cabaret for Koori Gras 2019, produced by Moogahlin Performing Arts and SGLMG.
Given the short time frame (and drag isn't cheap), I don't want to miss out on this magnificent opportunity to compete and represent Sydney in Miss First Nations 2019. I've got to act fast as drag costs money! So I'm asking all my friends, family, organisations to dig deep and kindly donate to assist me in achieving my target of $1,500. Now in it's third year, this competition is the Olympics for Aboriginal Drag Queens across the nation, and I'm going for GOLD.
All funds raised will go towards my return airfare, new wigs! Heels! Costumes and Bling! and Nana needs new makeup cos she might find a new man!
Any amount of financial assistance will be gratefully appreciated and acknowledged by Nana Miss Koori (and Graham Simms). xxx
