Hello! We are a group of friends of Nana Maria Feliciana Ujpan Mendoza who is from San Juan La Laguna, Guatemala. Nana Maria Feliciana is an Ajq’iij, a Tzutujil Mayan Spiritual Guide and Ceremony Leader working with individuals and groups on their healing, education and deep connection. She comes from a family where this tradition has been passed down and she works with her mission and purpose at the small center in San Juan La Laguna, Nuevo Sol.

In the last months, Nana's condition of Arthritis has affected her hips greatly, to the point where she went from actively working to being in a wheelchair in severe pain. Her family has taken care of her and on July 8/2026, she went for a medical consultation to Guatemala City and on July 9th she had the first of 2 hip replacements that were very necessary. She is at a private hospital in Guatemala City receiving the best care. The costs are anticipated to be 100,000 Quetzales. Of course the costs of this are well beyond the reach of Nana Maria Feliciana and her family and she will be unable to support herself financially as she goes through this time of recovery.

She is someone who has lived and breathed healing for many people over many years and now it is her turn to receive care and healing from her community. She has worked with many people from around the world and this is where you can support her now. All funds will be deposited to this account, then sent directly to the hospital where she has received her care. Hola, somos un grupo de amigos de Nana Maria Feliciana Ujpan Mendoza, originaria de San Juan La Laguna, Guatemala. Nana Maria Feliciana es una Ajq’iij —guía espiritual y oficiante de ceremonias maya tz'utujil— que trabaja con personas y grupos en procesos de sanación, educación y conexión profunda. Proviene de una familia en la que se ha transmitido esta tradición y desarrolla su misión y propósito en "Nuevo Sol", un pequeño centro ceremonial ubicado en San Juan La Laguna.

En los últimos meses, la artritis que padece Nana ha afectado gravemente sus caderas, llevándola de una vida activa a depender de una silla de ruedas y a sufrir dolores intensos. Su familia ha estado cuidando de ella; el 8 de julio de 2026 acudió a una consulta médica en Ciudad de Guatemala y, al día siguiente, se sometió a la primera de dos operaciones necesarias para el reemplazo de cadera. Actualmente se encuentra en un hospital privado de la capital recibiendo la mejor atención. Se estima que los costos ascenderán a 100.000 quetzales. Naturalmente, estos gastos superan con creces las posibilidades económicas de Nana Maria Feliciana y su familia, quienes además no podrán generar ingresos durante este periodo de recuperación.

Ella ha dedicado su vida a brindar sanación a muchas personas a lo largo de los años; ahora es el momento de que reciba cuidados y sanación por parte de su comunidad. Ha trabajado con personas de todo el mundo, y esta es una oportunidad para apoyarla. Todos los fondos recaudados en esta cuenta se destinarán directamente al hospital donde está siendo atendida.
