The generous support of families has always been an integral part of the success of New Albany Montessori; from our small beginnings renting space in a church, to the current building we occupy.
We began our Come Grow With Us campaign to put an addition on the building that would be a gross motor room. Over time and consideration of studies supporting the need for outdoor play, we realized that this large undertaking was going to keep the children in more and not in their best interest. What this generation of children needs is to be outside more!!
Our current plans are to install a large play structure that will accomodate our school population, landscaping and fencing that will provide beauty and privacy from a nearby development, a pavillion that will provide protection during mildly incliment weather, repaving our parking lot and to paint and care for the inside of the building.
We are using the funds raised in our prior campaigns to install the playground in mid-June and repave the parking lot in July. We need to raise funds to cover the cost of the pavillion, landscaping and painting or those things won't happen!
Today, as in the past we need your help to bring this entire vision to fruition. Unlike our previous plans that were so long-range, this plan will be benefitting children in the 2016-17 school year.
We are excited about this new direction we are taking and know that this will be of great benefit to the children; complimenting the outstanding learning experiences they have inside, with the increased ability to exercise not only their bodies, but their cognitive and social/emotional being as well outside!! We want our school to have the reputation of excelling in meeting all the developmental needs of children.
We are apprecitive for all the parents who have contributed and supported New Albany Montessori from our very beginning. We look forward to many days of watching the children run, climb and hearing the laughter that is experinced outdoors. For your contribution towards that end we are very grateful.
