To celebrate Kika's 9th birthday we want to ensure her legacy lives in on Guide Dogs and to name a puppy Kika in her honour.

Every year on Kika's birthday people ask us if they can send her a gift and every year, we ask only that you make a donation to a charity of your choice. This year we're doing it a bit differently.

Kika's been by my side for almost 7.5 years during which time we've travelled the world, written a book and done countless nursery and school drops offs too. Kika's presence has allowed me to be the person I want to be - independent, confident and happy. She's central to our family and as anyone with a dog will know, she's an incredible influence on us all.

Since starting this fundraiser, Kika has filmed a children’s TV show called ‘Dog Squad’ which will be shown on CBeebies (BBC) from 7th November which will showcase the incredible job working Guide Dogs do to allow their owners to live independent lives. Kika has also recently been diagnosed with cancer and is undergoing treatment. In light of this, so many people have asked to send her toys, treats and goodies to help her recovery. She has so much already that instead of sending goodies, we’d love it if you could spare a pound or two towards our fundraiser and we can hopefully hit our target of £5000 by 14 November.

I've been so lucky to be a part of the Guide Dog family and for the magic that Kika has brought to my world, and want to ensure that someone else in need of a Guide Dog can also rely on a Kika in the years to come.

Help me and Kika raise £5000 to make sure that there will be another Kika in Guide Dogs to continue my Kika's legacy.

If you want to find out more about how wonderful Kika really is and how she impacts my day to day life, check out her Twitter page @Kika_GuideDog and my book 'Kika & Me' (available in paperback, kindle & audiobook in all the usual places).

Thank you in advance for your support!

Some background information about The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association: Guide Dogs exists to provide life-changing services to the 360,000 people who are registered blind or partially sighted, and the two million people in the UK living with sight loss. We are best known for our world-famous guide dogs, but our work now encompasses so much more. In recent years, we have expanded our services beyond our dogs to help thousands of people with different needs lead confident, independent and fulfilling lives.
