Nambi short film

My name is Dennis Abwakat, a Ugandan production freelancer in the UK. Together with Ugandan director Peter Mukiibi and Ugandan production designer Ak Simba, based in Belgium, have always dreamed of making a movie. We recently had an opportunity to produce a short film, 'Nambi', based on a Ugandan folk tale. Currently, in postproduction, we need your financial support to help craft our vision.

NAMBI is an adaptation of the original Ugandan folk tale of Kintu, which tells the famous story with a different approach, one that introduces the character of Nambi to the minds and hearts of our audiences in a new and compelling way. Against her father's advice, Ggulu, Nambi, the only daughter of the heavenly realm, decides to descend from the comforts of her royal heritage and idyllic home to start a life with caveman Kintu. Ignorant of the growing dissent in the heavenly realm and the weight of her decision, Nambi naively charts her new path. However, her decision soon tips the scale of her world's balance delicate balance of existence, which sets off a chain of events that ultimately leads to the collision of the heavenly and earthly realms in a final battle for supremacy over the world.

Through personal funding, we were able to film with a crew of 40 indigenous industry experts across 2 locations in Uganda. The funds we seek now will go towards hiring 30 additional creatives to handle the postproduction process, which includes editing, VFX, and audio postproduction, enabling us to premiere the film in 2023.
