Nalu came down with an upset tummy on Sunday while I was away in Juneau. Thankfully my mom jumped into action and rushed him to the vet were they did x-rays and discovered a mass in his intestine. He had to spend the night in the ER to be monitored and administered IV fliuds, he was extremely dehydrated. As a result of the mass, he also had a very high fever and an elevated bacterial load which has resulted in hemmoragic gastroenteritis. He is on the mend but his medical costs soard instantly.

As you know, Nalu is my soul, the heart of the pack, the light of my life. He is my everything and knowing this happened while I was away is gut wrenching. I know that he will make a full recovery, but it is hard to see my normally carefree goofy guy feeling down. As is always the case with situations like this, the incident was unexpected and has put significant financial strain on our already (and always) tight balance.
