Today, my family’s 16-year-old senior dog, Nala, who we have had since she was a puppy, endured one of the worst dog bites, leading us to rush her to our vet for urgent care. The bite went down to her muscle, needing emergency surgery to stitch back up; she was leaking everywhere. Because of her age and kidney function, we were told she might not make it through surgery; however, it really needed to be done. Thankfully, she made it through her surgery. She has stitches inside her mouth and all over her face/eye area. She is in a lot of pain recovering, and we are praying this road to recovery goes smoothly.
Her vet bill today was a little over $1,200, which we put on a credit card we couldn’t really afford to do, but we needed to save Nala. If anyone is able to help pitch in for the costs of her surgery, my family would truly appreciate any amount donated towards her bill. She is due for a follow-up visit in one week, and a week after that for suture removal. Please spread Nala’s story if you can.
