Hello,
My name is Angie, and I am Nala's owner. About three weeks ago, I noticed that Nala was having a really hard time walking on her right, rear leg. The vet put her on pain medication. He also said that there was a posibility that she had a small tear in her ligament, but that it may repair itself with exercise restriction. However, on Sunday Nov. 27, she stopped using her hind leg altogether. An x-ray revealed that she had a cruciate rupture, which is basically a torn ACL in human terms. After a lot of phone calls, I found out that U of I's Dept. of Veterinary Medicine can perform the surgery for a lower cost than other vets in Chicago. Unfortuantely, because of financial hardship (paying my own hospital bills), and Nala not being insured, I can't afford the $3,000 cost. I hate asking for help, but putting my pride aside I asked to please help me help my dog.<iframe media_type="0" media_id="0Dr61x5yy-U" class="youtube-replace" title="YouTube video player" style="margin-bottom:20px;width:560px;height:315px;" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/0Dr61x5yy-U/?rel=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="1"></iframe>
