Hi our names are Lisa and Ryan, our beautiful whippet Nala

Rose has been unwell for some time - diagnosed in September with IMPA which is a condition where her body attacks its own joints she was treated with steroids she’s being doing ok we have been slowly tapering her off them…. At the Start of December she’s became quite poorly being sick and off her food, we had her back and to the vets numerous times - eventually she’s was admitted at vet hospital for 4 days where they found her spleen looked abnormal and she had lesions on her intestines she’s currently on antibiotics and was doing really well but she’s gone down again- it’s looking likely she may need more treatment possibly an operation- we do have her insured and we have gone past the £9k limit we kindly ask if you could spare anything at all we would be most grateful to help get our fur baby well again.

UPDATE

Nala has been re admitted to hospital today she’s booked in for an operation tomorrow where they will take biopsies from her small intestines, the specialist vet thinks what she has is rare and they don’t know yet if it’s treatable but we have to give our baby the best possible chance please pray for her please share our story.

OPERATION UPDATE

Nala has had her operation this morning she’s back in recovery. They have taken biopsies from her intestines which seems to be where the problem is they have also inserted a feeding tube in her neck - she’s doing well and we will know more later I will update again later.

UPDATE 7.1.26

Nala has been recovering from her operation she’s still not eating and being tube fed - she not felt great and has been regurgitating but she’s on medication and since I last spoke to them around 7pm she’s settled and comfortable. We are waiting on results of biopsies which should be back in the next 24-48 hours - will post an update when I know more - thanks again for all the support love you all x

UPDATE 10/1/26

so today we have brought Nala home the vets think she would be happier in her own surroundings- we were confident in this until we were told her feeding tube has become infected - that’s now been removed and we will have to see with medication we can encourage her to eat - we will be back at vets Monday where we are hoping there will be a plan forward as all results should be back - we are still waiting on some apparently. UPDATE 12/1/26

Nala is back in hospital I’ve just spoken to the vet treating her, Nalas feeding tube is back in… she’s had strong drug injected which treats cancer and auto immune diseases hoping to start steroid treatment tomorrow, they still can’t confirm diagnosis but possibly auto immune related he said he would expect to see an improvement fairly soon if she responds to treatment . My heart just breaks for her

UPDATE 13/1/26

Nala has started steroid treatment today and had tolerated her tube feeds which is good the sickness seems to be under control and she has even managed a small piece of sausage we have to take each day as it comes and we hope things continue to improve will update later today thanks again for all the donations love and support love Lisa and Ryan

Nala has been in hospital for a few days… shes home tonight and seems to be doing much better we need to see how she responds to treatment over then next few days lots of cuddles and rest …
