Nala dog cancer treatment
Donation protected
So many of you know that we rescued Nala in 2023 from Italy from a hoarding house where they found 80 dogs of which 60 had to be euthanised and the rest hopefully have found their happy ever after. Sadly, Nala’s happy ever after isn’t quite as we hoped. After discovering a little lump on her leg and a little bit of lameness, we took her to the vet and had her x-rayed and she has elbow dysplasia and arthritis in all her joints probably from the bad start to life she had. During this time the vet asked if they could take a biopsy of the small lump in her elbow and discovered that she had an aggressive mast cell tumour. Easily removed if it was on her back or anywhere else, but unfortunately being on her elbow, they needed to cut down right to the bone. They took a muscle flap from her back to create reconstruction for her leg so that she wouldn’t lose that it. We still do not know if they managed to remove the entire tumour as it was so close to the bone but super pup is home with a Popeye elbow and over 50 stitches. The reason for this plea for help is that despite having a very expensive good Pet Insurance they’ve decided not to cover the CT scans because it was for both arthritis and to also to find out how deep the cancer was. This is a huge bill that we weren’t expecting and thought would be covered. If you can help us to continue to give Nala that life that she deserves, we would be more than grateful..
