Nakhari Henry-Robinson Funeral Fund

It is with immense sadness and grief that the family of Nakhari Negus Henry-Robinson informs everyone of his tragic death at the age of 23. We are requesting donations for funeral expenses on behalf of Nakhari’s family through this GoFundMe page.

Sadly, Nakhari was the innocent victim of an unprovoked case of gun violence in the area of Northcliffe Boulevard and St. Clair Avenue West in North York on the night of Thursday, August 24, 2023. He is Toronto’s 42nd homicide victim this year. Those who knew Nakhari remember him for his positive attitude and determination. We are deeply saddened by his untimely passing, his loss is felt deeply by all who knew him.

An aspiring basketball player with a deep love for the game, Nakhari was a member of Canada’s Cadet Men's National Team. He was also a proud alumnus of the Toronto Basketball Academy and John Polanyi Collegiate Institute. A celebrated student-athlete with many untold gifts, Nakhari was an avid learner, a voracious reader, and an articulate youth who sought a better future for himself and his community. We remember him fondly for his best moments, for his unbeatable charisma, and for all of the wonderful stories that highlight the impact he had on those he loved.

Nakhari's life was taken as he was making strides on a path of self-improvement. On that fateful night, Nakhari saved his best act for last — sensing trouble at the scene of the incident, Nakhari managed to pull another person out of harm's way but sacrificed himself in doing so. To the Almighty we belong and to Him we return.

In honour of Nakhari’s life, funeral arrangements have been made for Saturday, September 16, 2023 (details to be finalized). Nakhari’s memory will live on in the hearts of many. We thank you in advance for your support and generosity during this difficult time.
