Najer Victor- 17 Year Old Virgin Islands' Baseball Phenom Needs Help!
Najer Victor, Class of 2020 has created a major buzz in baseball showcases around the United States. He is being scouted by professional teams as an outfielder and a pitcher and was recently clocked with 95 mph fastballs.
In summer 2017, Najer’s father moved him and his three siblings from St. Thomas, VI to Philadelphia to attempt to provide more opportunities for them. The move and the new environment was really difficult for the children and their single parent father. Najer ended up not playing for almost half a year until his cousin in Florida asked for him to come and live with his family.
In less than a week, Najer was relocated to Clermont, Florida (outside of Orlando) and enrolled at East Ridge High School. After just 3 games, Najer moved up the depth chart and became the starting shortstop over two great seniors who were already signed to college scholarships. Eventually, he went on to win the team’s “Most Improved Player” award, along with his cousin Jahlani Rogers.
As fate would have it, Najer’s new guardian Dwayne (Juice) Maduro found Power Baseball, a travel baseball program approximately 30 minutes away. Power Baseball provided Najer and his cousins with major opportunities to be showcased. Najer’s outstanding all-around skills caused major Division 1 universities to call almost immediately. While schools like Miami and Michigan were interested in the phenom, Najer verbally committed to the University of Central Florida.
Since then, Najer’s performance at tournaments have garnered him “Best Pitcher” awards and professional scouts have began showing major interest in him like they did his former St. Thomas Little League teammate and 2019 Major League draftee, Alex McFarlane.
On July 3, 2019, while playing at a major showcase in Atlanta, GA, Najer was struck in the face with a baseball that caused major facial injuries that will require restorative surgery (implants) and more. At the moment, Najer was not covered by insurance and is in need of critical financial support to get him the medical care he needs . The current and projected out-of-pocket costs are crippling. Our goal is $30,000!
Let's get Najer the immediate help he needs!
