I am Austin’s mom. I am fundraising for Austin as he had been in CCCU at SickKids since he was born on December 31st, 2019. He was 6weeks early and at the time we only knew about his heart condition HLHS. As weeks went by things started to go backwards, having seizures, not being able to wean from the breathing tube and ventilator. Weeks have turned into months, with multiple procedures and surgeries. Austin has never been out of the CCCU and I have stayed with him in Toronto for the last 10months at the Ronald McDonald house.

Austin has a lot of health issues here are just a few: Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome ( HLHS ), Chronic Lung Disease, 1q21.1 microduplication, Bronchomalacia. 

Fast forward to today November 5th 2020 4pm. Austin is now 48hrs post his Glenn surgery which is the second stage of his heart reconstruction, hopes are now to go back home to London. But with this we are going to need your help. Austin has a tracheotomy, GJ tube for feeding. He is going to need 24/7 care, lots of medical supplies and supports. Travel costs for Appointments in Toronto, as well as multiple trips to London’s Children’s hospitals. With only one parent working the Financial Burden on our family is significant, we are really struggling with the financial and bills of two rentals one our home and the other being my stay at the Ronald McDonald house as well as the hotels costs due to Covid when father and sister come to visit Austin. Trips up and down the highways, on the trains,etc. We never expected to be in the hospital this long.

Please any amount will help, we also don’t have a lot for Austin at home as they told us his survival could go either way during pregnancy. 

This boy is the strongest warrior you will ever meet and has overcome so much in his short life. I could say so much more and if you’d like more I’ll gladly provide more details and progress of this wonderful little boy.
