A new Irish-Medium nursery will be opening in the Waterside for the first time ever and we need your help!

We are a community based group working to establish the first Irish-Medium Education Nursery Unit in the Waterside area of Derry City.

There is already a high demand for pre-school places in our local area and from the very beginning the response and support from the local community has been phenomenal.

When we first launched, the registration process demand was so high that we had to close registration much sooner than we expected, as spaces filled up very quickly! 24 families registered their children which shows that there is a huge appetite for Irish-medium education in the area.

So far, we have received funding to cover building and staff costs, for which we are very grateful. However, this funding will not fully cover the complete costs to run and equip the Naíscoil on a day to day basis.

We are aiming to raise an additional £25,000 to bridge the gap between our current funding and the costs we face. In addition to our other fundraising activities, we have decided to launch our GoFundMe Page as a way for the wider public to help contribute to our efforts.

Irish Medium Education is a thriving sector and gives every child the chance to develop their thinking skills and language skills in an immersive and nurturing setting, in addition to developing their cultural awareness.

We are asking you to assist us in our goal of raising what is needed to give the children of the Waterside the gift of bilingualism.
